Covenant Carrier IV

“Yet for my own sake and for the honor of my name,
I will hold back my anger and not wipe you out” Isa.48:9

I can tell you numerous stories of situations I have found myself in that the key was I went to God and said, ‘who am I? But Lord, for Your Name sake. Lord, because of Your Name’. And God said, ‘you are right, for My Name sake…’. This is an aspect of God that you need to tap into and that is what the Covenant releases for you. The Covenant makes God do His own part; the Covenant makes God responsible for His own part of the deal. The reason a lot of people are worried is because they do not understand that the Covenant has two parts – your part and God’s part. God will not do your part and you cannot do God’s part. Leave God’s part for Him and He will do it for His Name sake.

I am not worthy of all the unfailing love and faithfulness you have shown to me, your servant. When I left home and crossed the Jordan River, I owned nothing except a walking stick. Now my household fills two large camps!” Gen.32:10. This was barely twenty years after Jacob left. He had worked for seven years to marry Rachel but got Leah instead. Worked for another seven years for Rachael, and then worked another six years changing cattle with Laban. When he crossed the Jordan previously, he crossed with just a walking stick but in addition to that he was carrying the Covenant. When he was coming back he was with two huge companies. Everyone that is great, in his or her quiet moment will admit he or she is not worthy. If you think you are worthy, then you are not there yet. There is a level of greatness that God is going to take you to that when you look at your self, you will admit that you are not worthy. Jacob knew that everything God did for him was for His Name sake. There were many times that we would have been destroyed but for God’s Name sake we were not. Nigeria will not be destroyed for God’s Name sake. How do you know that you are going to bloom? For His Name sake! How do I know that tomorrow I am going to be fine? I know because I carry His Name and if I carry His Name, He is responsible for me. When the Bible says, “you are the apple of God’s eyes” think about the human body. If someone tries to poke your eye what happens? Reflex kicks in and you defend that eye without thinking. God is saying you are the apple of His eye, if anyone tries to touch you God would have beaten the person black and blue before remembering you didn’t pray yesterday. Don’t get me wrong, you should pray; pray knowing you are the apple of His eye.

Prayer [song]: I have confidence in You, Jesus. I have confidence in You, Saviour. I have confidence in You, every time, everyday. I have confidence in You, Jehovah. Amen!
