Connected To Source
“Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground” Gen.1:26
The Word of God clearly points out that God is our source. So if God cannot be stressed you should not be stressed. If God cannot be harassed, I need you to get this so I am going to repeat it. If God cannot be harassed you should not be harassed. Jesus is God, He was on earth but the fact that He is God did not mean that the storm recognized that and refrained from harassing the boat. But on the contrary, the storm came at boat even though Jesus was there. So you are going to have storms raging at your boat, that is not an excuse for you to say, O God, why me, why me! If Jesus cannot be harassed I choose not to be harassed. You cannot harass me – it is impossible. If you try I will report you to my Dad. So you need to know that what cannot stress God, should not stress you.
Another thing you need to know about the source is that your connection to the source is vital for survival. A river that abandons its source, they say, dries up. We have to understand that connection to source is vital to survival. The flesh of man was made form dust and that is why we walk on earth because we have to be connected. That is why humans cannot live in water because they were not designed to. Man is sculptured for the earth. Fish is connected to water. If you bring a fish out of the water and drop it on land, it will struggle but after a while it will die. If you must go to outer space, you must wear a suit because you do not belong there. And if man decides to stay in outer space too long, this body will die. While this body needs to be connected to the earth, your spirit needs to be connected to God because God is the source of your spirit. God is the source of your spirit! Our greatest single source of stress is when we live our lives without God [outside of God].
The fourth step to living stress free like Jesus is I must know the Principle of Meditation. Spend personal time praying. Make a habit of personal prayer; it is called the principle of meditation. “Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray” Mark 1:35. Jesus was extremely busy but before daybreak, because He knew that once it is day there will be a lot of activities and noise. Jesus went to a place alone to pray. I told you about family altar and it is fantastic to have a family altar. It is also fantastic to have corporate prayer but nothing can take the place of personal prayer. Nothing can take the place of habitual personal prayer. You must find time to go consistently before God alone to pray. Jesus needed to pray to live stress free and so do you.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, because You live in me I will stay connected to God, in Jesus Name.
