Another Dimension

“About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the waterMatt.14:25 [emphasis added]

Please read Matthew 14:22-33. “Immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people home” Matt.14:22 . It is interesting that when they had a party because they practically had a party when Jesus fed five thousand men not counting women and children. Everybody ate and there must have been a lot to clean up and a lot of people to send away. It is interesting that Jesus said to the disciples you go I will wash the dishes [translated]. Amazing! Doesn’t that just turn our leadership upside down? Jesus said to the disciples you go and I will send the people away. We are talking about at least five thousand people and Jesus Himself catered to the people, shook their hands and thanked them for coming to church [so to speak]. His hands must have been sore. Those of us in leadership need to learn from Jesus really. Jesus could have said let me go into the cruise boat and you boys sort out the mess but instead Jesus said go-ahead let me sort out the mess. Remarkable!

And while they were on the journey that Jesus sent them on, storms arose, there was turbulence and the boat was about to capsize. This is so instructive because many times we do not want storms in our lives; we are not interested in the storms. In fact a lot of the prayer we pray is to pray away the storms. We try very hard to get rid of the storms but I am here to say to you that the storms that we face present us another opportunity to experience another dimension of Jesus. If they did not face that storm they would not have known that Jesus could walk on water. The storm you are facing is going to bring a fresh revelation of Jesus in your life in Jesus Name. Just like the three Hebrew boys thrown into the fiery furnace. While they were in the fiery furnace the Bible says, “Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.” “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.Dan.3:24-25 [NKJV]. So sometimes it is the fire, it is the storms we go through that exposes us to a fresh dimension of Jesus. Do not be discouraged. Say to yourself do not be discouraged.

Prayer: Lord, today I encourage myself in the Lord, the God of the heavens and the Earth. The One that never fails, God who is dependable, in Jesus Name.
