Access Control II

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” James 4:7 [KJV].

This is just the beginning in your life. Imagine someone who chooses to stay on one side of the door, refuses to open the door or go in, and opts to peep through the keyhole? That person will see but can the person experience? No! Listen there are certain things in your life that you have to be willing to let go of. I declare again that this is just the beginning in your life. I heard Bishop T.D. Jakes speak about the ‘gift of good-byes’ in a message I listened to a while back and it is a gift I have whole-heartedly received. The problem with a lot of us is that we do not have the ‘gift of goodbyes’ and so we are willing to hold on to some things until we die with it. Do you have the gift of goodbyes? If not then receive the gift of goodbyes now in Jesus Name. Opening and walking through a door implies that you have to walk away from and shut other doors. There are things that you have to shut the door to. “…whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” Matt.16:19 [NIV]. So what are the things that we need to shut the door to?

Firstly, you need to shut the door to the enemy, to satan. In some lives and in some families, the enemy is just having a free day doing anything he wants to do. God is trusting you as a member of that family to stand up and shut the door against satan. The Word of God says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”. Submit to God means open your doors to God. Then shut the door at satan and he will have to get out. That is my contemporary interpretation of that passage of scripture. Open the door to God, shut the door at satan. Who is responsible for shutting the door at satan? You and I. There was a man that had a serious problem in his home but he had not been praying. Then finally he went to complain to God and God said to him, ‘as long as you permit this there is nothing I can do’. So the man got up and began to do the needful, resisting satan in his home and satan had to back down and get out. In your offices, in your businesses many times it is as if the enemy is just raging. Of course the enemy uses people, have you discovered that? The enemy uses people, the same way God uses people. When you resist the devil you will be shocked that some people will have to exit your life but you have just received the gift of goodbyes. Focus on the door that God has opened to you.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, empower me to shut the door permanently to satan and his works in my life, in Jesus Name.
