“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends” Rev.3:20

And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a girl named Rhoda came to answer. When she recognized Peter’s voice, because of her gladness she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter stood before the gate. But they said to her, “You are beside yourself!” Yet she kept insisting that it was so. So they said, “It is his angel.” Now Peter continued knocking; and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonishedActs 12:13-16 [NKJV]. You are believing God for something, you have prayed and the answer is knocking on the door. But you are saying to the answer stop disturbing me I am praying. Yet heaven is saying we have done our part, we have released the answer but please open that door. And this applies to us as individuals and as a nation. We need to get up and open the door.

We need to open the door to fellowship because we are created for fellowship [for community]. No man is an island, which is why we are by God’s grace a church of small [life] groups; a church of fellowships of people. We have fellowships running in different people’s houses. Some of you need to open the door of your house for fellowship. Some of you need to open the door of your heart, even though you are going for fellowship you have a barricade in your heart because of a past hurt. You need to open your heart and open your life for authentic relationships. You need to open your heart for real fellowship and you would be amazed at the quality of life that will flow through. Many people build barriers because of past experiences but regardless of what you have gone through the Word of God is true. Regardless of how church has treated you, Jesus is coming soon. So inspite of the frailties of man we have to step out and trust again. We have to step out and open our hearts and trust our fellowship leaders. You have a habit for instance and you want to break this habit, you need someone that would pray and agree with you. You need to talk to your life group leader. We are big on small groups because people can go from a big gathering to a small gathering where their personal needs can be addressed and prayed for. You are not an island.

If you need to open your heart to God, there is no time like today. Today is the day to open that door. We need to resist the devil and he will flee from us but there has to be a submission to God first. “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends”, that is a promise from Jesus Himself.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I open my door to You today, I invite You to come in and share a meal with me Lord, make me Your friend, in Jesus Name.
