Too Young vs. Too Old

Proverbs 23:7For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…” (KJV).

The first bait you should not bite is the I Am Too Young For That Bait. For two days now, we have seen several examples in history, in Bible times, and in present of people who entered their great destinies in their teens, twenties, thirties, and forties. What is the excuse of being too young or of being inexperienced? How do you get experience? You get experience by doing, that is how you get experience. Again, God’s Word in 1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example…”. We mentioned this in passing some days ago, that you are the first person who should not think less of yourself before you can stop anybody from thinking less of you. If you think less of yourself, people will inadvertently think less of you. Do not believe that you are too young for anything great.

The second bait you should not bite is the I Am Too Old For That Bait. Yes, you guessed it. Like we said, age is not the problem; the mindset is the problem. In fact, a study done by sciencedirect.com, a scientific research and journaling website, states that age has a positive relationship with entrepreneurial success. That is the percentage of entrepreneurs who started when they were older, are more successful than those who started when they were younger. While there are successful entrepreneurs who started young, the percentage of the population that started when they were older is higher. Who is John Pemberton? John Pemberton was an American pharmacist who founded Coca-Cola. Guess what? The kick is that he was fifty-five years old when he founded Coca-Cola.

You are in your fifties, and you are saying, “I have tried in life, I am tired. I can’t do anything spectacular or significant again.” That is a lie! It is a bait, don’t eat it! I am too old is a bait. Don’t eat it. Who is Ray Kroc? Ray Kroc was fifty-two when he founded McDonalds. I know some of you reading this are still in their fifties. Who is Harland Sanders? Alan Sanders was sixty-two when he founded Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). And KFC became what it is, making him a billionaire. I am talking to thirty-three-year-olds, and they say, “Pastor, I am getting old.” No, you are not. Don’t say you are too old. You are not too old. How old was Moses when God called him to start his assignment? Moses was eighty years old when God called him to start his assignment. And we still talk about Moses till today. Are you eighty?

Prayer: Father, I declare that I am not too young or too old to be all that You have called me to be for such a time as this. I arise and take my stand, in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
