Taste Berry!

Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?” Rom.2:4 [NKJV]

Gratitude they say is like a taste berry. A taste berry is something that once you put it in your mouth every other thing you eat afterwards is made sweet, even the bitter things become sweet. Thanksgiving is life’s taste berry; it makes every other thing that comes afterwards sweet. Start your day with thanksgiving and let it set the tone for your day.

Your gratitude or your lack of it reveals your source. When you go before God to say thank you, it reveals that God is your source. Erroneously, some people feel that they are self-made so they do not need to thank anybody for anything. The truth is that there is nothing like being self-made. The truth is that such people are just ungrateful. There is no one that has gotten to where they are without help from someone [which God has sent] along the way. So how can you be self-made? Erroneously also, some people think that without a certain someone they cannot be who God has called them to be. In order words, they have tagged that person their helper. You have only one helper and His Name is Jesus. Never ever make man your helper because the Bible declares that cursed is he that puts his trust in the arm of flesh. So making man your helper is as good as putting yourself under a curse and the arm of flesh will fail you. Your source is God, so put your trust in God alone. Declare out loud today before heaven and earth that your source is God and labor to keep it that way. Be grateful for the people that God has brought to help you along the way. In fact, go ahead and thank them but let your glory and gratitude belong to God alone.

Our second response to God’s goodness is to get closer to God. God will crown this year with goodness for you in Jesus Name. However, it is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance. “Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?” Rom.2:4 [NKJV] [emphasis added]. The goodness of God should get you and draw you closer to God. Have you ever wondered why God is so kind to you? Understand today that His kindness is supposed to make you get closer to Him. Unfortunately, a lot of people do not respond to kindness. Some people only respond to terror. God is saying to you today, I want you to respond to My kindness. I am crowning this year with goodness and My goodness should lead you to repentance and bring you closer to Me.

Prayer [song]: Draw me close to You. Never let me go. I lay it all down again to hear You say that I’m Your friend… Help me find a way bring me back to You… Amen!
