Lazy?

“Then he said, “Now pick up the other arrows and strike them against the ground.” So the king picked them up and struck the ground three times” 2Kings 13:18

So in 2Kings 13:17 we know that God had promised, “…for you will completely conquer the Syrians at Aphek” [emphasis added]. And then in 2Kings 13:19you would have beaten Syria until it was entirely destroyed. Now you will be victorious only three times” [emphasis added]. The question is, “what happened?” How did things turn around so quickly from complete victory to partial victory? The answer is in 2Kings 13:18-19, “Then he said, “Now pick up the other arrows and strike them against the ground.” So the king picked them up and struck the ground three times.  But the man of God was angry with him. “You should have struck the ground five or six times…”.

The sad truth is that in many cases it is not the devil that robs people of the fullness of what God has for them, it is laziness! In fact, laziness has destroyed more destinies than the devil. People are appearing before God and blaming the devil for partial victory. Meanwhile the devil is saying, “God, I do not even know that young man; I have never been to his house.” Check the whole Bible, satan only spoke to four people. Meanwhile, you repeatedly hear people say satan told me this and that. Where was satan when he was telling you all these things? He is too busy causing havoc elsewhere. And we know from Scripture that he cannot be in two places at a time. Many destinies have been lost to laziness and not opposition from hell.

But unfortunately, in this part of the world [Africa], we think every loss is caused by the devil. Yet a lot of setbacks that people are having is simply based on one word – laziness! Say aloud,” I [say your name] will fulfill my destiny; I will not lose out to laziness in Jesus Name.” What is laziness? Laziness is when one of two things happens; Laziness is resting when you are not tired. Rest is for the tired; you should be working. And laziness is relaxing before the job is done. How can you go on break or a vacation before the work is done? A diligent person will give all it takes until the job is done. The key thing here is, if God told you to start, let God tell you when to stop!

Prayer: Father, every territory I have lost because of laziness, help me to reclaim today through diligence, in Jesus Name.
