Maneuver

Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life” John 3:6

George Washington, one of the ex-presidents of the United States of America, was the one that led the campaign that broke the back of the British hold on America. It was successful because he deployed the Principle of Maneuver. Up until this time, he had lost all his battles. George Washington was trained in continental warfare. Continental warfare has a lot to do with structure and order. He approached the battle against the British forces using his continental war training and he was losing. They trained him and he was trying to defeat them with the same structure. You cannot use the enemy’s strategy against him.

But right in the middle of battle, George Washington changed his maneuvering and invented the Guerilla Warfare. He said he discovered that the American spirit is an enterprising spirit. A lot of the soldiers were entrepreneurs, businessmen, and farmers. He could not get them to do what the British had taught him. So what he came up with was a hit and run maneuver. They locate and strike the weakest point and before the enemy can gather, he will run and hide. He did this until they depleted the British armies and the Americans gained their independence.

Your capacity to think even while you are in battle and maneuver will make a difference. Life does not play fair; things you do not bargain for just happen. And it is like that for everyone who lives under the sun; so your case is not special. So what are you going to do? When you find yourself in that mix, you maneuver. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” John 3:6 [KJV].

Your ability to continuously think out of the box, innovate and maneuver in the midst of battle, is key for victory. Innovation is very crucial and clear thinking is key to innovation. When you can think clearly and you innovate, it results in excellence. There is a difference between excellence and extravagance. People that lack innovation think that they must be extravagant. But if you are really innovative, you do not need to be extravagant. Be open. Do not be fixated on your way of doing things. Remind yourself to be open.

Prayer: God of all creation, please give me daily the power to transform my sphere of influence and the grace to remain flexible before You, in Jesus Name.
