Think On These

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise” Phil.4:8

Today, we will start off with the story of a man called Tom Monaghan. I pray that the Holy Spirit will open your heart to the importance of speed and give you speed also, in Jesus Name. Tom Monaghan was a pizza delivery boy for an Italian pizza outfit in the U.S. And he observed that whenever he delivered the pizza, his customers were not happy. The customers were always on edge and this affected his tips. Have you noticed that customers do not tip well [or recommend your business] when they are not happy? His observations led him to conclude that it had something to do with the delivery time of the pizza. So he began to question the time spent on the entire pizza production process which in turn affects the delivery time. So he went to the management with his observations and suggestions. But management did not quite see the need for speed. Out of frustration he sold his second hand car and started a pizza business.

And his competitive advantage was speed. He told his customers that if the pizza was not delivered thirty minutes after the order was placed, they’ll get the pizza for free. Guess what happened? The whole town began to order pizza from him and some people were praying that the pizza would not arrive on time. In no time, Domino’s pizza, the pizza outfit he started, took over the pizza industry. And that is the story behind Domino’s pizza. Somebody decided that speed is more important than quality. Remember the caveat is when a man is hungry. If you serve the average man a slice of Domino pizza and a slice of the traditional pizza, he probably cannot taste [or tell] the difference because the hungry man just needs to eat. What do you need to accelerate in your life? What do you need to accelerate in your home? What do you need to accelerate in your office? What do you need to accelerate in your business? Think on these things.

David longed for the water from the well at Bethlehem [2Sam. 23:15-16]. And the three broke through the Philistine’s camp, got the water and broke through on the way back. They would not have been able to accomplish this without speed.

Prayer: Father, let it please You to lay Your valiant right hand on me and give me speed in all my endeavors, in Jesus Name.
