No Excuse
“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God” Rom.1:20 [emphasis added].
You have no excuse for not knowing God. The way God has set things up is that we are without excuse. Particularly if you are in God’s Favourite House where everything is aimed at showing you Jesus. Beginning from the New Creation Reality classes, to the Journey classes, then Life groups, and by God’s grace powerful messages and anointed worship. Have you done the Journey? What is your excuse? Do you think you will stand before God and give an excuse? It will not work! Face it; you are as close to God as you want to be.
Yes! The truth is you are as close to God as you want to be. The things God has told you to let go of, you have refused to let go. What you are saying is that you really want to stay where you are. You are as close to God as you want to be. And so I am challenging you today to come closer to God. If you want to move from death to life, it always starts with God.
On one of our social platforms, a lady shared this story with us and it is so instructive. ‘During the civil war in the United states, in a discussion about the fortunes and setback of the Northern army, Abraham Lincoln asked that people should pray for victory. So one of his critics asked, are you sure Mr. President that God is on your side? And Abraham replied, “I am much more concerned that we should be on God’s side, that thought occupies me all the time”. A lot of the time, people want God to be on their side. This is where we are getting it wrong because God already has a side. The question is, are you on God’s side?
Are you familiar with the song, ‘let God arise, let my enemies be scattered’? That song is not in line with Scripture. Read it again, “Oh God arise, let your enemies be scattered”. So you see now why the enemies have not been scattering? It is your call to change sides. When you come to His side and you sing, ‘let God arise and His enemies be scattered’, what happens? Your own enemies become His enemies and they will be totally blown away. You and I need to drill it into our hearts that it always starts with God.
Prayer [song]: You’re all I want. You’re all I’ve ever needed. You’re all I want. Help me know You are near. Draw me close to You, never let me go. I lay it all down again, to hear You say that I’m Your friend… Amen!
