The Path II
“You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.” Ps.66:12 [NIV, emphasis added].
Many people are jeopardizing their hard place by taking shortcuts. The shortcuts are the reason why they do not arrive in the wealthy place. The reason why it appears as if there is no wealthy place is because people insist on taking shortcuts. There is no shortcut! You need to go through the grind. Be prepared because when you are going through the grind, it will be very uncomfortable and sometimes humiliating. If I were to show you my back, you will see scars [figurative scars not physical scars]. Ask the people you see in their wealthy places today and they will tell you that everyone has to go through the hard place. They will testify to the fact that the hard place comes before the wealthy place.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” Ps.23:1-6 [KJV, emphasis added]. Did you notice that the valley of the shadow of death came before the table that was set and before the oil overflowing?
So if you see someone with the later, know that they have gone through the former. If you see someone with a set table and oil overflowing, ask them to tell you about the valley because there is a valley they have gone through. Some of you are going through your valleys. I have a word for you, if you will. Firstly, you are about to come out of the valley to a set table and to oil flowing without restraints. Secondly, do not short circuit the valley with a shortcut. There are no shortcuts in God. None at all! But since you are coming out of the valley, the table is set before you in Jesus Name.
Prayer: Lord, I receive the strength to run and not be weary, to walk and not faint. I receive the grace to endure the valley so I can sit at the table the Lord has set for me, in Jesus Name.
