PG 15

God wants you to be pure and to keep clear of all sexual sin…  For God has not called us to be dirty-minded and full of lust but to be holy and clean” 1 Thes.4:3,7 [LB, emphasis added]

Over the next few days, God is going to teach us how to think clearly about sex. Please note that the rating is PG 15. So parents please take note and engage your teenagers daily about the discourse. Your teenagers should know these things because if we [God’s Family] do not teach them, the “world” will try to teach them.

We live in a sex-saturated society. Everything, particularly in the media, has a sexual undertone and it is in our faces everyday. There are sexual images used to advertise everything from mops, to cement and even tyres. We need to be mindful of the intensity because you inevitably become what you behold.  A lot of the people in the society are tending towards living together and having children without getting married. As such, it has become trendy to say one is a single mom or dad [#singleparent]. Why? It is because that is the image we have been shown consistently. There are a lot of unwanted babies and abortions going on.

A lot of people, young and old, have sexually transmitted diseases because unfortunately people are not thinking clearly about sex. A lot of marriages are upside-down sexually because one party is hooked on pornography and he or she is not able to have realistic expectations and really enjoy the marriage.

Statistics state that over the course of a year, prime time television shows fourteen thousand, three hundred and thirteen [14, 313] incidents of sex; twenty three thousand, five hundred and sixty six [23,566] uses of profanity, and over eight thousand [8000] incidents of violence. And ninety percent of all the sex portrayed on television is sex outside of marriage. The society is being brainwashed into believing that that kind of life is acceptable. And deliberately, the characters used in portraying this kind of living are people you can relate to. In fact, they have shortened the attraction circle with an adulterated version of what love is. Which is, there is an attraction and the next thing is they are in bed. Bed hopping is portrayed to be a popular indoor sport. Unfortunately, a part of the Church is buying this lie of the enemy. God wants us to think clearly about sex.

Prayer [song]: My body is Your Sanctuary (2x). Purify me as gold, so I might be bold to say my body is Your sanctuary. Amen!
