Capacity

“He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would wonderfully bless me and help me in my work; please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all evil and disaster!” And God granted him his request” 1 Chro.4:10 [TLB]

Favour will open doors for us where nothing else can. But we all still need skill, wisdom, speed, strength, and education. When favour opens the door, it is skill, wisdom, speed, strength, and education that will keep you in the room. For example, a boy gets an all expense paid scholarship to Harvard. That is favour. But you will agree with me that he still needs to read his books, go to classes, and think. He needs to be strong. If he says his middle name is favour and all he does is party, after a while, he will get kicked out of school. So favour has opened the door for you but you need speed, strength, wisdom, skill, and education to fully maximize the opportunity. They all work together.

God promotes you and gives you the opportunity to sit with people that are captains of industries. You have to be able to say things that will stir them up and cause them to want to keep you around. But if you have no knowledge, you can speak in tongues all day and that door will still shut. You have to deliver quality otherwise you will be sent back to where you are coming from.

Years ago, I was still in paid employment at the time. We had a solution that had gained traction in Nigeria but we wanted the whole of the West African market space. But some other company had done a back door pass and gone ahead to bribe those they could on the Board. And the West African market space was going to be handed to them. I got wind of it while I was in a conference in France with everybody and I said never; it is not going to happen. And God, by a share miraculous act of favour, opened a huge door for me to meet with the Board that controls the financial industry globally.

Could I have opened that door myself? Not at all! That is favour. By the grace of God, I made one presentation to the Board and they changed their mind and gave it to Nigeria. If I did not have speed, if I was not strong – mentally strong, if I was not wise knowing when to speak up and when to keep quiet, if I was not skillful, and if I was not educated, what do you think would have happened to that opportunity? Gone! Many times, the believers think everything is prayer. Yes, prayer is important but you need to develop yourself.

Prayer: Father, please increase my capacity for speed, strength, wisdom, skill, and the capacity for knowledge, in Jesus Name.
