Favour Magnet

Deut.28:² [NKJV] “And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God”

What are those things that the Holy Spirit has been prompting you to work on and what are you waiting for? God is prompting you to work on your fitness so that you will be strong, but you are sitting tight and saying “By the grace of God”. Stop giving God a bad name! Do not get me wrong I do believe in miracles but I assure you, this is the secret of greatness right here in the Word of God. Do not leave your life to chance. Ecc.9:¹¹ says, “…The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives…” [emphasis added].

With favour, there is a part you can control and there is a part you cannot control. God has been so magnanimous to make sure that we are able to control some of these things. He did not have to but He chose to allow us. Praise God! From Ecclesiastes 9:11, there are five ways to “control” favour and make favour flow in your direction. The five ways are: Speed, Strength, Wisdom, Skill, and Education. If you have these things in place in your life, you will be a magnet to favour.

Imagine someone that consistently completes every task the boss assigns to her way before the given deadline. The boss will like that person, because everyone likes the person that will solve their problems and not the person that will give them problems. Being mentally, physically, and spiritually strong attracts favour. When people can trust you to execute because of the alertness of your mind, they will not only come to you, they will spread your fame.

Wisdom attracts favour – ask Solomon! Knowing what to say and what not to say, when to speak and when to keep quiet. In fact, most of the problems we have are as a result of what we have said or not said. The Bible says even a fool is counted as being wise when he keeps quiet – well, until he opens up his mouth. Every body loves skillful people. Check – who are the people that most brands use as their image ambassadors? Skillful people. Your focus should not be praying to be favoured like them. Your focus should be to work on being skillful like them, and then the favour will come.

Prayer: Lord, please empower me to work to increase my capacity for speed, strength, wisdom, skill, and the capacity for knowledge, in Jesus Name.
