Covenant Covering

Gen.12: ² I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. ³ I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”

The challenge with a lot of us Africans is that we like to let go of the things we know and embrace the things we do not know. The western cultures are more harmful than a lot of us like to believe. There is more to it than meets the eye. In fact, right now on the streets of New York, there are satanist shops. My wife and I had friends, a black family, that was living in an all white neighborhood. One day when we went to visit, on their walk way the Holy Spirit said, “Stop! Look down”. I was shocked to see that right there on their drive way an altar had been raised against them. The spot had feathers, blood… the things you typically would see in African television drama.

It was an all white community but I felt God saying there are certain satanists in that community that did not want black people there. So the altar was an eviction notice. It was spiritual and the goal was that the family should pack up their things and leave the community without knowing what exactly had hit them. It may start with disagreements between the couple and then escalate to domestic abuse. A neighbor calls the police and then they will be excised from the community. We called their attention to it and dealt with it spiritually.

Again I say to you, you cannot go through life without spiritual protection. Isaac was saying to Jacob [Genesis 27:28-29 please read], you are going to be prosperous and influential but you need spiritual protection. Everyone that curses you will be cursed and everyone that blesses you will be blessed. In essence, Isaac was putting a hedge round his son and saying, “If they come at you, the forces of heaven will fight them” [paraphrased]. As Christians, we have no business being afraid of curses. As a church, there are so many people that do not want us to exist. But that is their business because we will do more than exist; we will reach the nations for God. There is only one word to describe the people that give thanks at your downfall – enemy. You need to activate your spiritual protection in Christ.

Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, even as You cause me to prosper and gain influence, let Your valiant exalted right arm be with me for protection, in Jesus Name. Amen!
