Playing God?

Phil.4:19 “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”

You are not to worry about your finances because it is unreasonable, it is unnatural, it is unhelpful, it is unnecessary, and it is unbelieving. The truth is that worry shows unbelief. Matt.6:30 “So do not worry, saying, `What shall we eat?’ or `What shall we drink?’ or `What shall we wear?’  For the pagans run after all these things and your heavenly Father knows that you need them” [with emphasis]. If you are an unbeliever, the Bible is saying you should be worried. But if you are a believer your Father will take care of you, so stop acting like an orphan.

Worrying is playing God. Stop playing God. Phil.4:19God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus” [with emphasis]. What does all mean? All means everything. When God takes care of all and He will in Jesus Name, there will be nothing left to worry about. Go and use your mind for more creative things than worrying. Take note however that the Scripture says every need and not every want. There is a difference between your needs and your wants. The assurance the Bible gives is that God will supply all our needs but not all our greed. Again these are two different things.

Question: Parents, do your children really know what they need? Every parent can attest to the fact that children know what they want but they do not really know what they need. God has given us these earthly relationships to help us understand our relationship with Him. Similarly, our heavenly Father knows what we need as His children. A single lady for example may be considering getting married to a particular person. But God knows that she does not really need that person. Guess what God will do? He will give that lady the person she needs, a husband that will help her fulfill her destiny. This truth is not meant to make you uncomfortable but rather to give you an assurance. God will give you what you need not necessarily what you want.

Prayer: My Father in Heaven, I repent for every single time I have tried to meet my own needs and I thank You for not allowing my needs go unmet, in Jesus Name. Amen!
