To Do

Acts 6: 3 “…choose seven men among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom… 5 …They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas…”

Prochorus was separated the same day as Phillip. Philip raised the dead, Phillip healed the cripple, cast out demons but what did Prochorus do? The difference is that Phillip was eager. Are you eager to serve God and for the power of God to come upon you? Are you eager to operate in the same power that Philip and Stephen operated in that distinguished them from the others? That is why in God’s Favourite House, we are not big on titles. We are more focused on action.

You have seen a lot of miracles in God’s Favourite House by the grace of God, but are you eager? Eagerness is usually what separates people. Are you content to just wear the label “Christian”, sit in church and be powerless? Or do you want the power of the Holy Spirit to be in full expression in your life? Even though I cannot evaluate your eagerness or your hunger, but heaven is looking. Are you hungry for God or do you just want to remain the way you are? Are you interested in and do you want more of God? Are you eager to see more of Jesus? Phillip was eager and he surrendered himself. Are you eager?

If you hear the Word of God and you do nothing about it, it is not going to profit you. This is why we came up with a system in God’s Favourite House that will help you become a doer of the Word. I want to challenge you to resolve in your heart today to reach out to people that are far from God. We have included what we call the P.I.E Challenge template in this year’s devotional. Prayerfully pick three people that are close to you but far from God. Write their names down in the spaces provided. The next thing you do is to you invite them to have a good and God experience in church; invite them to your Life Group meeting. Thirdly, encourage them to follow Jesus. Just keep talking to them and God will open an opportunity to encourage them. The reason this insert is in your devotional is so that as you enter God’s Presence each day, you take the names of these three people with you. Pray for them consistently and while you are doing your bit, God will be doing His bit. You need to be deliberate about this.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, Your mantle upon me will not be dormant, in Jesus Name. Father, do not let any of my loved ones go to hell, in Jesus Name. Amen!
