What is Important?

1 Cor.3:7 “It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow” [with emphasis]

To know the ways of God you need to know His formula [that is His ordinances and His heart]. “It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow”. And guess what? This God loves you and He wants you to have abundant harvest. But He does not want you to ever forget that He, God is the one that brings the harvest. The Voice Translation of 1 Cor.3:7  reads, “So the ones who water and plant have nothing to brag about. God, who causes the growth, is the only One who matters.”

We will not stop fasting and praying but we also will never brag about that. And the reason we will not brag is because it is God alone that matters.

A father promised his children that if they do well in their examinations, he will buy them fries. And his son did excellently well so as promised the father took him out for fries. The boy was expecting a medium portion, which would have been amazing, but on getting there, his father ordered for a large portion. And as the father watched his son relish the meal before him, he had a desire to fellowship with his son. So he stretched his hand toward the plate to get some fries but the boy protested. “The fries are mine Dad and you cannot have any”. The father looked at him thinking, I bought the fries and I have enough money to baptize this boy in fries.

Just then the daughter walked in, she did not do so well in her examinations so she was not expecting anything. But the father beckoned the waiter and asked for two extra-large fries for the daughter. Again the boy protested, “That is not fair dad! I am the only one that passed my examination, how come she gets to have two extra-large fries?” And the father said, “I can do anything I want with my money. I am the source of the fries”. The point is this, God is the source of all things. “It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow”. You and I need to put this Scripture before us and meditate on it even as we engage the ordinances of God.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, help me never to forget what is most important. Help me never to forget that God is the most important part of every equation, in Jesus Name. Amen!
