Die Daily
1 Cor.15: 31 “[I assure you]… I die daily [I face death every day and die to self]” [AMPC].
No matter how much potential the seed has, the seed remains a seed until it is planted and it dies. Many people are planted in marriage but they have refused to die to themselves. And this is the reason so many marriages are hitting the rocks today. The people in it are not dead to themselves or dead to their arrogance. Spouses are still so full of pride; everybody is talking back at everybody. Until you die, you cannot produce.
The reason a lot of people are not thriving in God’s house is simply because they are not planted. They are in the soil alright but they are not dead. They still have their own philosophies. There is nothing wrong with knowing what Aristotle and Plato said as long as it is in line with the Word of God. And if it is not, you need to throw those philosophies out of the window. It is one thing to stay and be planted, it is another thing to actually die.
Jn.12:24 “I tell you the truth, unless a kernel (seed) of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels–a plentiful harvest of new lives” [with emphasis]. 2 Cor.4:12 “So death is constantly at work in us, but this has resulted in eternal life for you”. This is the secret of power. You have to die so that life can be produced. Death produces life. This truth is the same even in your business. Have you ever heard the statement, “mind your own business”? What it means is, be planted in your business. It means be planted in your marriage. You cannot be putting your eyes in other people’s affairs. Be planted in your marriage. The grass is greener where it is watered. Water your own garden.
The second function of the soil is, it is a place of stability. The roots are anchored in the soil. Who ever is not planted and rooted, will be blown away when the wind comes. But those who are planted and rooted cannot be blown away by the wind. After the wind passes, they will still remain standing upright. No root, no tree. No tree, no harvest. Being planted brings stability to your finances, your business, your career, and to your life.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, teach me to die to self daily so that my life will take root. The winds of adversity will not blow me away, in Jesus Name. Amen!
