Contact

Acts 2: 2 “…there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit…” [NKJV]

The first way physics says energy can move is by Conduction. If heat is applied to one end of an iron rod, gradually the heat is transferred to the other end of the rod. The second way is by Convection. Convection is the movement and transference of energy via liquid largely. Women do this almost everyday when they boil water. The third way is by Radiation. Radiation is transfer of energy over space. The sun heats up the earth by radiation. And the fourth way that I have included is the Charge and Discharge. It is the method most commonly used by batteries. Take charge from a source, retain and discharge.
When God wants to communicate [transfer] His power to us, He can use any of the four methods mentioned above. And with the point of contact, God also uses the ways mentioned above. My favourite way is conduction because I love to stay in contact with God. I want His hand to remain on me every step I take – that is conduction.

What some people do with God is charge and discharge. While this method has its value, sometimes it can be dangerous. Let me explain; a man connects to God’s power using the charge and discharge method. The power can last for years before it runs out. Along the line, the man begins to dabble into stealing, sexual sin and all sorts of things. But he is still operating in the supernatural and the power is legit.

When the charge is exhausted, a lot of people struggle with going back to God to recharge because they know God will confront them with their lifestyle. And because the price for purity and restitution appears too high, they go to other sources for power. I have chosen conduction so that if for any reason I step out of line, I get the ‘rod-comfort’ and I get back into alignment. What would it be for you? Do you want to be under His hand constantly or you just want to charge and move on? From tomorrow we will be looking at scriptural examples of God’s power, the transfer method and the point of contact.

Prayer [song]: My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame but wholly lean on Jesus’ Name. On Christ the solid Rock I stand; all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand. Amen!
