Point Of Contact III

Lu.8:43 “A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding, and she could find no cure. 44 Coming up behind Jesus, she touched the fringe of his robe. Immediately, the bleeding stopped”.

God is accessible but God is not common. Because of the finished work of Jesus on the cross, we can access God easily. We no longer have to sacrifice bulls and rams. We must never become too familiar with God. A lot of people in their bid to be uncommon, have barricaded themselves. Not Jesus, He chose to let people push and touch Him. But the person that places a demand on Him will get results. So when you hang out with God daily, value Him.

The healing of the blind man: Jn.9:6Then he spit on the ground, made mud with the saliva, and spread the mud over the blind man’s eyes. 7 He told him, “Go wash yourself in the pool of Siloam” (Siloam means “sent”). So the man went and washed and came back seeing!” Picture that for a moment, this man was blind but he was not deaf but he submitted to whatever God was doing. In similar scenarios, a lot of people will get angry or irritated. Some will say it is not even cultured to spit in public. If we meet Jesus in the flesh, some of us probably will not even let Him into our houses because of the rules we put in our lives.

Perhaps Jesus was saying, “I made you out of dust, so I am going to use the same dust as a point of contact for new eyes”. The sand became a point of contact for the man’s new set of eyeballs. Many people would have criticized Jesus. Why wouldn’t He just speak the Word? Why does Jesus have to use a point of contact? He is Jesus, He can do whatever pleases Him.

Peter’s Shadow: Acts 5:15 “As a result of the apostles’ work, sick people were brought out into the streets on beds and mats so that Peter’s shadow might fall across some of them as he went by. 16 …and they were all healed” [with emphasis]. Peter was probably going grocery shopping for his wife. The people did not ask for a prayer session. They connected to the fact that Peter had been with Jesus and what flowed from Jesus now flows in him. They just stayed in the path of his shadow and got healed – Radiation. Their faith is commendable because it is unto you according to your faith.

Prayer [song]: Be magnified O Lord! You are highly exalted and there is nothing You can’t do. O Lord my eyes are on You. Be magnified, O Lord be magnified. Amen!
