Bow

Matt.2:11 “They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”

Please read Matt. 2:1-11. From the time of Jesus even up until this time, there are people who sincerely want to worship God. Their hearts are with God, their mouth are with God, they follow God like these wise men and they pay any price to locate Jesus. The initial estimation of the journey of the wise men to locate Jesus was two days. But more data has surfaced that suggests that they walked nine hundred miles and that will take at least five days. There will always be people seeking Jesus for who He is and want to worship Him. Then there will also be the ‘King Herods’ of this world who will say, come and tell us so that we can worship Him also but they have no plans of worshiping Jesus.

What category do you fall into? Do you associate with Christ because you want to worship Jesus or you associate with Christ because you want to use Him to achieve your own needs? From the beginning, people have tried to use God for their own objectives. Are you seeking to be used by God or are you seeking to use God? Are you seeking to open your life up to be used by God or are you looking for someone that will grant your wishes, no questions asked? Sadly, some people are like that but you can change today. You can come to God.

Perhaps when you came into this place of devotion today, what preoccupied your thoughts were things you want God to do for you. You have no intention of adding value to Him or of worshipping Him, or of bringing a gift to Him, or of bowing down to Him in sincerity of your heart. You can change that today and bring your own gifts and bring your own life. The first gift the three wise men brought which was not highlighted in Scripture, was their lives. They were powerful men; they could have sent their gifts but they brought their lives.

Guess what? They did not just stop at bringing themselves; the Bible says they bowed. To bow means to pay obeisance to. Imagine wise men prostrating for the baby. The truth is worship is foolish to the natural mind. You have not begun to worship until the people that have no clue about God take a look at you and tag you as foolish. In fact, that is the beginning of worship.

Prayer [hymn]: Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee; Take my moments and my days, Let them flow in ceaseless praise, Let them flow in ceaseless praise. Amen!
