Jesus’ No.1 Fan

Ps. 98: 4 “Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises. 5 Sing to the Lord with the harp, With the harp and the sound of a psalm”

Man’s innermost desire, man’s deepest craving is to worship. And there is no better place to express that worship than to God in God’s house. The truth is if you do not worship God, you are going to worship something else. If a Real Madrid fan were to lift up his hands, jump and jubilate, they will call him a fan. But if I, a child of God Almighty, lift up my hand, jump up and celebrate Jesus, they will call me a fanatic. What they are trying to do is sell us a lie but we are not going to buy any of it.

Many of us restrain ourselves when what we actually feel like doing is lifting up our hands in God’s Presence. Worship is going on and you are moved to kneel down but you say if I had worn the flat shoes but not these heels. Guess what? It is the person that has legs that wears shoes. The person that does not have back pain is the one that wears high heels. How far can those high heels go? How long can they last? The question is, how come it is only when we want to worship God that we want to draw lines? How come it is only when we want to thank our God that people advise us to be civil? How come when your favourite football star scores a goal, you shout, you do not sit still and you jubilate freely? But how come we say let’s dance for Jesus and people freeze?

Your telling me that I can only get excited in everything apart from God, is nonsense! I want to get excited in God because that is what I have been created to be – excited in God. There are only two reasons why people reject Christ. The first reason is because they have not met a Christian and the second reason is because they have met a Christian.

Being a Christian does not mean you should look like you are spiritually constipated – no joy; nothing. You cannot even laugh. People who meet you will not be interested in knowing your God. You know why? It is because people want to be part of the winning team. Jesus died and rose again and conquered death – that is the wining team! His team is the one that will not expire. He will always win you trophies.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You have made a show of Your love for me and I will cast off all restraints in praise, in response to Your love, in Jesus Name. Amen
