Step It Up!

Deut.1:6 “When we were at Mount Sinai, the Lord our God said to us, ‘You have stayed at this mountain long enough. 7 It is time to [Step up] break camp and move on…” [with emphasis]

We need to Step up in our thinking. We need to stop “stinking thinking” like it is said. If it were possible to project people’s thoughts on a big screen, many people will be embarrassed. That simply points to “stinking thinking”. And it is dangerous because your life is a composition of your thoughts. Are you proud of what is going through your mind? If your thoughts are projected for everyone to see, will it be things of good report? Will it be pure? Will it be lovely and will it be virtuous? If you will be embarrassed to see your thoughts projected in full view of everyone, then you need to Step up your thinking.

We need to Step up our speech and our speech flows from our thoughts. We need to stop saying things that are destroying our lives. A lot of us need to stop saying things that are destroying our children, stop saying things that are destroying our spouse, and stop saying things that are destroying our homes. It is time to Step up your speech.

We need to Step up our actions, which consist of our reactions and responses. Stop reacting on a mediocre level. We need to Step up our reaching out to people that are far from God. There are people in our lives that are close to us but far from God, people either in our work place, or in our neighborhood, our friends, or acquaintances. We need to Step up our reaching them for Jesus. By God’s grace, our story is past forgiven, purpose for living, home in heaven, Jesus is alive! However, it is not enough to know it, we need to take that message and be more proactive in reaching our world for Jesus. We need to Step up!

Joshua 1:1 After the death of Moses the Lord’s servant, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant. He said, 2 “Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to [Step up!] lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them. 3 I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you5 No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.” It is time to step it up!

Prayer: Lord God, I have chosen to Step up in response to Your call. Help me to look up, Step up and stay up, in Jesus Name. Amen!
