Promise Keeper

Joshua 1: ² “Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them. ³ I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you…”

God wants you to Step up in leadership. You may not be leading any one currently but you have the potential of leading millions of people. And God is saying to you and I, like He said to Joshua, “Arise! Get up and Step up!” In your homes, you are providing leadership for your husband, for your wife. The Bible says, submit one to another. You are leading your children and the people working with you.

You are to provide leadership with your gifting. Sadly, some of us have allowed the deposit of God inside of us to become dormant. God is saying get up and Step up. When you begin to unleash [to deploy] your gift, you will provide leadership for millions of people that automatically would have gone to hell. Today, God is giving you the mandate to lead all such people to the Promised Land. The phrase “Step up” is an instruction for every one of us. Step up in your industry because God says so. Perhaps you own a school; stepping up would mean making that school a standard for others to emulate. As a professional, Step up and show others diligence, uprightness, and skill – Step up into leadership.

Step up into God’s promises. God says in Joshua 1:³ “I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you…⁵ No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.” Moses here represents The Law [the Word] to us. What has God said in His Word concerning you? What are you trusting God for? God is saying Step up into the fulfillment, in Jesus Name.

I am not oblivious of the fact that most times we look so inadequate when it comes to leadership. The story of Joshua is really the story of most of our lives. Moses left really big shoes for Joshua to fill but God came along and strengthened him with a promise. Step up in leadership and into the fulfillment of God’s promises because God is with you.

Prayer: Father, today I Step up into the fulfillment of every promise in Your Word. I will be the head and not the tail, I will lend to nations, in Jesus Name. Amen!
