Up There!

Rev.4:1 Then as I looked, I saw a door standing open in heaven, and the same voice I had heard before spoke to me like a trumpet blast. The voice said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this.” [with emphasis]

God is calling you to come up so that you can hear what He is hearing. There are things that you need to hear that cannot be heard from down there. There are things that can only be heard from up there. There are levels of anointing and power that are only accessible from up there. There are levels of revelation and wisdom that are only accessible from up there. There are levels of breakthrough that can only be accessed from up there. There are levels of insight that can only be made available from up there. God is saying, “Come up here!”

The challenge is that a lot of people are given to wishful thinking. All they do is wish they were up there. God is saying, “Stop wishing and come up here so that I can show you things”. A popular song’s lyrics end with the words, “…I am going higher some day”. Some day is for wishful thinkers; I say why not today? So I have replaced the words some day with today. God is calling you to come up higher today. You need to go above the shadows, way above wishful thinking, above the frivolities and the confusion that surrounds you. You need to step up and set your face as a flint. There is so much that God wants to show you and to breathe into your life but you need to step up spiritually.

I believe you are hungry and ready to step up and all you need is for me to tell you how. Pay close attention. There are four things we need to do outlined in Revelations 4:1.

#1. Look Up! Rev.4:1 Then as I looked, I saw a door standing open in heaven…”. For you to step up, the first thing is you have to look up. You cannot step up when you are looking around. You cannot step up when you are looking backwards. You cannot climb a staircase while looking back. At best your progress will be impeded or you will fall flat on your face. David said in Ps.121: 1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the Lord…” David made a decision to look up; you have to do the same. When you look up, you are better positioned to focus on where your help comes from.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I decide today to look up, to fix my eyes on You alone and to step up, in Jesus Name. Amen!
