Prov.11:²⁴ (NKJV) “There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty.”

The average person is dishonest and that is the reality that we are faced with. You cannot run a successful business by leaving your business in the care of a manager. You have no clue what is happening but you are waiting for returns. That is how the ostrich behaves; it buries its head in the sand and hopes that its body is not visible. That manager will most likely enrich himself before he makes any returns to you. Sam Wilkin says, “Every billion dollar is an economic puzzle waiting to be solved.” Why can God not solve such economic problems through you? I pray that He will solve billion dollar economic puzzles through you, in Jesus Name. Believe God! The first thing is you must believe that it is possible.

To step up financially, you have Earn Some, Spend Less, Save More, No Loss, Invest More and the sixth thing you have to do is Give More. Giving is a spiritual principle. I do not need to understand how it works but it always works. Give to others, help people, give to God’s work, and give to God’s kingdom. Personally, every time God wants to take me to a higher level financially, He challenges me to give! And there has been no time that He has not taken me higher. But that new level is always preceded by a season of stretching in giving.

With tithing for example, God says give ten percent. Some people ask why God said ten percent. My response to such people is, “I do not know why God asked for ten percent but I am kind of glad He did not ask for ninety percent.” If God had asked for ninety percent what would you have done really – petition or rebel? Some people are rebelling on ten percent and they are dealing with devourers.

Sadly, a lot of people only think about tithing from the devourer perspective. Personally, I think of tithing from the open heavens perspective and it makes all the difference! God says, “I will open the windows of heaven and pour down a blessing that there will not be enough room to contain”. And because that is my perspective, I am excited about tithing. My excitement heightens when God nudges me to give more than ten percent.

Prayer: Father, as I honour You with my finances, cause me to experience Your open heavens and an over flow of blessings in my life, in Jesus Name. Amen!
