Irrational Giving

Luke 6:38 (VOICE) “Don’t hold back—give freely, and you’ll have plenty poured back into your lap—a good measure, pressed down, shaken together, brimming over. You’ll receive in the same measure you give.”

The sixth thing you and I need to do concurrently with Earn Some, Spend Less, Save More, No Loss, Invest More is, Give More. In God’s Favourite House, we have a group of people called the Governors of Wealth. The people in this group are committed to giving more than ten percent as their tithe. When we started giving, my wife and I were giving twenty percent. Then I increased my giving to twenty five percent and she opted to stay with twenty percent. I said of course, according to your faith. But I have the financial responsibility of my family by God’s grace, so I have to work these principles.

By God’s grace, I increased it to thirty percent and my wife cheered me on. And now only by God’s grace I do more than thirty percent. I am trusting God that one day, I will be giving ninety percent and ten percent will be more than enough for me. Believe me, it is going to happen. It is not original though; I caught the vision from Heinz, the man whose ketchup, baked beans, salad cream and more, we have in our homes. Before he passed on, Heinz reversed tithing by giving ninety percent. Today, his children and grand children are earning so much in royalties from all those businesses because one person decided to give more. Many times we do not see the impact of our giving or know how far our giving will go.

It is pretty obvious that God does not need your money, right? So why is He asking you to give? It is because He needs what your money represents and that is your heart. Your money represents your life. You exchange your life for your money. For the people working a nine to five job for instance, everything they do revolves around work. Their sleep, eating, dressing is work focused. And what they gain in exchange for that is money. God wants the money because where your treasure is there your heart will be also.

Deut.8:18 (KJV) “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth…”. God wants us to show gratitude because it is by His help alone that we are able to earn some. He wants us to show that He is priority. And He wants us to demonstrate faith, our belief that He will keep His promises.

Prayer: Father, I give You praise for giving me power to get wealth, in Jesus Name. Amen!
