Gal.6:14 “As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died.” [with emphasis]

Paul says our interest in the world must be crucified and yesterday we discussed in detail what that interest actually entails. However, Paul did not stop there. Paul says, “…the world’s interest in me has also died”. News flash –the world has a plan for you and the prince of this world is the devil. The world has a plan for you and that interest has been crucified.

Gal.2:20 [KJV] “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” It helps to recite this Scripture over and over again, until it becomes burned into your heart and flows through you. There was a season in my life that I recited this Scripture repeatedly daily because I needed it to be my reality and today, it is my reality. Remember, it is when the life of Christ is “received”, that it “forms in us” and then it “performs” through us.

People will push the boundaries emotionally but, because the life of Christ you have received is performing through you, they will wait in vain for a negative reaction from you. And it is because a dead person cannot fight. The reason why a lot of people react is because they are still alive. Your spouse lets you down; he or she did not stand up for you when they should have. You are really angry and he or she is expecting a fight but you keep quiet. And when you are asked you say, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

You have been crucified with Christ so you cannot go through life wearing your emotions on your sleeves. We get in the way too often but when we die to self, the resurrection power will burst forth in our homes. It will be impossible for it not to. Make up your mind to stop getting in God’s way in your life and yield to His way.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, I ask for grace to consistently see the beauty of The Cross and to take up my cross and follow Jesus, in Jesus Name. Amen!
