Game Changer

Ps.24:9 “Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory.”

Jesus was silent all through the humiliating experience except for when He asked for forgiveness on behalf of those who persecuted Him. With the weight of the sins of the world on Him alone, for the first time He experienced a break in fellowship with the Father and He cried, “My Father, my Father why have You forsaken me?”

Jesus’ last words were, “It is finished” but what the devil and his host heard was, “I am finished” and they began partying. Note that the phrase “it is finished” is different from “I am finished”. Be careful what you say when you are going through a cross situation. Jesus said, “it is finished” –the work of salvation, redemption, healing, restoration, and access to the Father, is finished. The Bible records that the sun became dark and creation hid its face but the enemy rejoiced. The devil did not know that crucifying Jesus was the game changer.

While the party was in full swing and the devil was receiving praise for his master strategy, suddenly they began to hear heavy footsteps. Who could it be? After all, everyone was present at the party. So, a little demon was sent to check and he came back with the most unexpected report – it is Jesus! At the mention of the Name of Jesus, everyone fell down flat. The devil was furious at the demon, “Was I not clear that that Name is never to be mentioned in this gathering?” They thought they had finished Jesus. For a lot of people reading this today, the enemy thought he would finish you off. But in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, you are going to rise again and dumbfound them all.

The footsteps were undeniably authoritative and satan shouted, “Lock the gates now!!!” But when Jesus showed up, an angel blasted from Heaven, “Lift up your heads o ye gates and be ye lifted up ye everlasting doors and the King of glory shall come in” They contested it, “Who is this King of glory?” “The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory.” At that point the gates blasted open, Jesus bruised satan’s head and took the key of death and hell. This was prophesied in the Book of Genesis. What has God said about you? Only what God has said about you will come to pass – hold on!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are the game changer in my life’s equations, in Jesus Name. Amen!
