Gal.6:4 (Philips) “Let everyone learn to assess properly the value of his own work. Then he can be rightly proud when he has done something worth doing, without depending on the approval of others” [with emphasis]

You need to know how to evaluate your job and tell yourself the truth. Stop waiting on people to tell you that you have done a good job. Just come up with ways of evaluating every task. It is important to know that God does not want us to over grade or downgrade ourselves. God wants us to have a proper assessment of ourselves. Two questions are key for you to get a proper assessment of yourself and in evaluating your past work.

The first question is, what have you enjoyed? What lights your fire? What task gets you so drawn in that you completely lose track of time? For some people, it is acquiring while for some it is developing things [to build things]. Some people enjoy influencing in the right direction. Influencing is not necessarily bad especially when it is focused on leadership, not manipulation. Some people love organizing. My wife will tell you that organizing is not one of my strengths. But you will never find things disorganized around me because I let the people that love to organize do what they love best. You cannot be everything.

Some people are born performers; it is almost as though they were born with a microphone. You can learn a lot from just watching children play. If you pay enough attention, you can identify some of their unique gifts. If you are a member of God’s Favourite House, I encourage you to do The Journey. Even if you have gone through the classes already, I encourage you to redo it. The third and fourth trips of The Journey deal in great detail with understanding your shape and what you have been shaped to do.

The second question is, what subject interests you most? Think back to your school days and identify the subjects you were interested in. Some loved to play with numbers, for some it was words, for some it was speaking, some just liked talking about money, for some it was interacting with people and some preferred to work with machines. You need to know what you are drawn to. For better clarity and direction about all these, take The Journey.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, help me to be true to myself as I evaluate my tasks and let this process lead to growth, life change and total dependence on You, in Jesus Name. Amen.
