Next Level
Rom.12:18 (NIV) “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” [with emphasis]
We are on a journey with God and the destination is thriving at work. However, even though the thrust in this season is on work, you will notice that God is challenging us beyond our work life. He is challenging us to our core on certain areas in our lives. I am trusting that God Himself will change our lives and take us to the next level in our businesses, in our careers and in our relationships, in Jesus Name. Over the next couple of days, we will be looking at the people factor and learning how to deal with difficult people at work. Getting Fulfilment and Meaning, requires “Being in the right PLACE, having a right PERSPECTIVE, with the right PEOPLE and the right PURPOSE.
Research shows that the number one source of stress in any human being’s life is strained relationships. The number one source of stress is not how difficult the job is, or the broken- down car, or the absence of power; it is not even money or lack of money. If you are going to enjoy your job, it depends heavily on enjoying the people you are working with. In fact, the number one reason for people resigning is because of their manager and not because of the job. They may love the job but there is a strained relationship with someone that pushes them to exit.
God is going to help us to thrive at work and help us to deal with difficult people. Rom.12:18 (NIV) “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” [with emphasis]. God’s Word says if it is possible and that sort of suggests that it may not always be possible for some people. But God says that as far as it depends on you, which means from your own side, be at peace with everyone. There are all sorts of difficult people around us. Even if you are a student, you are going to have to deal with difficult people. However, God helping us, you and I must ensure that we are not the difficult people in our office or business. And if you already are tilting in the direction of being difficult, we trust that before this season is over, God will realign you.
Prayer: Father, I ask that you make me an instrument of Your peace everywhere I go, in Jesus Name. Amen!
