Acts of Charity
Eph.2:8 (GW) “God saved you through faith as an act of kindness. You had nothing to do with it. Being saved is a gift from God. 9 It’s not the result of anything you’ve done, so no one can brag about it.”
That you are saved today is because someone had compassion on you. Someone saw you going to hell and decided to tell you about Christ and eternal life.
Someone chose, out of compassion, to impact your eternity for good. Who are you inviting to church? who are you telling about Jesus? You cannot on your own save them but you can set up the meeting and God will take it from there.
When you begin to have compassion on people and to support them, the atmosphere around you will change. Your superficial friendships will deepen into authentic relationships. People would actually seek you out because they know that you care for their souls. People tend to want to hang around people that have been compassionate towards them. If you think back, you tend to unburden yourself more often to people who have shown you compassion. You trust that they will not judge you or your actions. You know they are not going to beat you down further.
We all have people in our lives that no matter how pressing our need to unburden is, we will never go to them. And it is because nine out of ten times, we have experienced judgement from them and hardly ever any compassion. My advice to you is make sure you are not the one that people cannot call or come to for succour because you are too judgemental. It is a very bad place to be. When we truly show compassion, our superficial friendships will deepen into authentic relationships. The Church, your church will multiply in effectiveness as people discover that they can find love where Christ is worshipped.
When you are among people that you can be vulnerable with, it is blissful. When you are in a relationship with someone, perhaps a spouse, and you can be vulnerable to him or her, it is blissful. God’s Favourite House is such a place. God’s Favourite House is a safe place. I dare say we do not even know how the judgemental hammer looks.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, please make my bowels overflow with compassion; as I have freely received, help me to freely give also, in Jesus Name. Amen!

Show love, it might be little but show love.
