The People III

Matt.2: 11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”

#4. The Wise men. It is interesting that God is not a respecter of people, or race, or color, or tribe. These wise men came all the way from the east and they worshipped Jesus.

Meanwhile, God’s own people did not go to worship Him. The wise men understood that age is not an issue with God. Even though Jesus was a baby, the Bible says that they fell on their faces and they worshipped Him. There is a reason they call them wise men; they are actually wise. And these wise men came all the way. Where they were coming from was not the next town.

In fact, to give us an indication of how long they travelled, the Bible says in Matt.2: 16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men.” Herod used the age range from when they said they saw the star and the boundary was from zero to two years. So, it tells us that they saw the star two years and they had been following the star for two years. Many people just want to microwave their walk with God – instant spiritual maturity – instant God. And If God is not responding, we throw tantrums.

These people followed the star for about two years and did not give up! You have a promise from God, do not give up. God has given you a sign that you are going to be great but it appears as if you are still struggling. Do not give up! God has told you that you are anointed and you are going to raise the dead. But every one you pray for dies – do not give up! Keep following the star! And the wise men fell on their faces and they worshipped Jesus. I pray that everyone reading this today and everyone in God’s Favourite House, will be wise men and women. I pray that the Herods, the scholars, and the people of Jerusalem amongst us, will be converted to wise men, in the Name of Jesus.

Prayer [hymn]: O come all ye faithful, Joyful and triumphant. O come ye o come ye
To Bethlehem. Come and behold Him born the King of angels. O come let us adore Him (3x),
Christ the Lord. Amen!

  1. I love the last paragraph best. A beautiful breakdown of the lesson. A big Amen to the prayers!!!
    Thank you for sharing.

  2. Can I just say what a relief to uncover an individual who actually understands what they are talking about. oYou actually understand how to bring a problem to light. A lot more people really need to look at this and understand this side of the story. You most certainly have the gift.
