Brave Heart

Matt.24:14 And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.

You have a destiny to fulfill, a part of God’s kingdom. It is important for you to hear this over and over. It is important you also say it to yourself until it is wired into your heart. You have a destiny to fulfill, a part of God’s grand plan. When you move forward in your life or your marriage, you move to the next level, the kingdom of God progresses. When your children progress or your business progresses, the kingdom of God progresses. When your life progresses or you make progress in your career, the kingdom of God progresses. You have to see things the way God sees it.

We know that since the days of John the Baptist up until now, for the kingdom of God to progress, there has to be violent conflict. The kingdom of God suffers violence and the violent take it by force. This conflict is real and God wants us to have the courage to fight because victory is ours in Jesus Name. You need courage to fight for your destiny. Courage is one of the most required attributes for victory. Weapons are important in warfare, but you cannot go to battle without courage. It is very risky to engage in battle with cowards on your team [Judges 7:3].

My secondary school football team was nicknamed by other schools, ‘butter-boys’ [‘Aje-butter’ is a slang that means pampered]. There was a school down the road from ours and they were famous for their skill in football. Their team was fierce. As God would have it, from my third year, I was on the school’s football team. The team was mostly made up of seniors, big and strong. But even though, I was little, I had some tricks up my sleeves. Then one day, we were set up to play the school down the road. It was like David and Goliath. Guess what? Some of the seniors on the team began to panic. “How can you be afraid of the opposing team when both teams have eleven players each?”

Thankfully, on the day of the match, most of the players that were afraid were on the bench. Guess what? We won the match 2 – 0 by a sheer miracle. The point is this, the feeling of having cowards on your team can be very disturbing. The thought of having people on your team that can drop their weapons and turn their back is disturbing because of the effect it can have on others. Remember the twelve spies? God wants you to be courageous.

Prayer: I declare in Jesus Name that the spirit within me is not a spirit of fear or cowardice but of courage, power, love and a sound mind, in Jesus Name. Amen!
