Better Together

Philip.4:13 “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”

Our very first service on the property GFH HQ is sitting on was very dramatic. We are responsible and we believe in excellence, so we did the responsible thing. We came in advance to clear the place, fill the land, and set up for the service. But overnight, it rained, the water level rose up, and the tents collapsed. When we got there in the morning, we met a mess. What were we supposed to do, turn our backs on the giant or face it and worship Jesus? We faced it and worshipped Jesus! Then one of our ministers came to meet me and said, “I do not think I can be coming here, to stand in this muddy place. Can’t we just go back there to “Egypt” where we are eating cucumber? We had air conditioning, parking, and they did not chase us from the place.” We actually have a very good relationship with the owner of the facility we were renting before we moved into our own property. I said to him, “No Sir!” If we had turned back, we will not be where we are today.

Jesus did not call us to play politics, He called us to make a difference. That is why we have campaigns like the Bridge, Everything-4-50, partnerships with NGOs that give scholarships to people. We are partnering with communities, rebuilding churches that the terrorist group boko-haram had razed down in the northern part of Nigeria and we are supporting missionaries. We are having common wealth, a system where we are actually making a difference. God wants you to make a difference because you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. God wants you to make a difference in the lives of the people around you. God wants you to change people’s lives. God wants you to be the difference in a family, such that because they met you, things actually changed.

When we all bring our lights together, when we bring our fire together, we have a huge bonfire that can achieve much more than what I can do, than what you can do. None of us is as strong as all of us. When you are fasting alone, it is beneficial. But when we fast together, it is powerful. When you are praying alone, it is beneficial. But when we come together to pray, the earth shakes and the heavens open and answers are poured down. When you want to make a difference in the community, it is beneficial. But when we pull together to make a difference in our community, it is powerful. We are better together. None of us is as anointed as all of us.

Prayer (song): You’ve got times and seasons in your hands. You called for light out of darkness. You don’t need a man to be the God you are. But you have chosen to call me your own… Amen!
