Freed

Rom. 3:23-24 “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.” (emphasis added).
Being a Christian is summed up in one word and that word is “Done”. It is because of what Christ has done that we can do what He has called us to do! We stand tall not on the authority of our dos [prayers, giving, serving], but on the authority of the complete work of Jesus on the cross of Cavalry. It is done! Before I began to Pastor, I was in service one Sunday when the power of God hit, and a demon spirit began to manifest through one gentleman. Interestingly, the demon was speaking queens English. I found that very interesting. The Pastor beckoned on three of us, the head of prayer a lady, my friend, and I to attend to the matter.
So, he was taken out of the church to the prayer room. I was the last to get there but apparently, the demon-possessed man had accused the head of prayer of being a witch and had threatened to tear her apart if she comes close to him. So, she stood by the door. He looked at my friend and said, “You, you did not pray last night, if you come here, I will deal with you.” So, my friend stayed at the door. I entered the room and I told the demon possessed man to look at me but he could not so he looked down. I said, “In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I draw a Bloodline now, you are unable to cross this line.” So, I went back to church to attend the service. How can I miss the Word because of one demon? That is disrespect! I sat down where Pastor would not see me. After the sermon, I went back to join them, and God sorted the demon-possessed man – he was set free by the power of Christ Jesus.
When it was all over, my friend said, “You need to show me how to do what you did. That Bloodline, show me how to do it too.” I said, ‘the demon accused you of not praying, right?’ I cannot even remember if I prayed the last night but it does not matter. Why did he not accuse me of the same thing? If he had, I would have said, ‘It is not on the authority of my ‘dos’. It is on the authority of the finished work of Jesus on the cross of Cavalry. It is done.’ Therefore, God has given Him a Name that is above every other name, at the Name of Jesus every knee shall bow. So, in the Name of Jesus, you cannot cross this line! That is all! The spirit world understands authority. In fact, my friend told me that when I left, the demon-possessed man would charge at them. But when he gets to the line, he would stop. It is Jesus.
What I am saying, in essence, is, if you try to live your life on dos, it will not work. Heb. 7:18-19 “The old system… was canceled because it didn’t work. It was weak and useless for saving people. It never made anyone really right with God. But now we have a far better hope, for Christ makes us acceptable to God…” (LB, emphasis added). You are acceptable to God and that is huge! Rom. 7:6 (MSG) “…We’re free to live a new life in the freedom of God.”
Prayer: Father, I thank You for Your grace; thank You for making me acceptable and right in Your sight. Thank You Jesus for the cross, in Jesus Name. Amen!
