His Plan, His People

Neh.2:17-18 “But now I said to them… Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire. Let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem and end this disgrace!” Then I told them about how the gracious hand of God had been on me… They replied at once, “Yes, let’s rebuild the wall…”

It is a miracle and a total privilege to be able to worship God, the Maker of the heavens and the earth. God did not tell Moses to say to Pharaoh ‘let my people go’. That was not what God told Moses. It was more than that. Ex.5:1Afterward Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘Let my people go, so that they may celebrate a festival to me in the wilderness.’” (NRSV, emphasis added). It was not just let my people go; it is let my people go so that, there is a purpose for the release. What represents ‘Egypt’ in your life today? It could be a financial ‘Egypt’, or a health situation, or a marital situation, or a business challenge, or a transactional ‘Egypt’. Or a relationship you just need to be free of, or it could be a habit that is apparently holding you bound. Today, in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, you are coming out of ‘Egypt’.

‘Egypt’ is anything that prevents God’s people from achieving or from entering into their God-given destinies. Ex.5:1Afterward Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘Let my people go, so that they may celebrate a festival to me in the wilderness.’” (NRSV, emphasis added). Celebrating, worshipping God is a big deal. You cannot just want to come out of ‘Egypt’ for coming out of ‘Egypt’ sake. Hannah stood before God and said, ‘if you give me a son his purpose will be to serve You‘. That is not how it works. Why do you need to come out of ‘Egypt’? Do you just want to get married so that you can flash your ring around? Do you just want to have a car because your mates have cars? Why do you need to come out of ‘Egypt’? What is God’s purpose, what is God’s plan? There has to be a greater purpose for your coming out of ‘Egypt’. Once we locate that purpose and connect it with God, heaven moves on our behalf. You are coming out of ‘Egypt’.

What is the overarching, the big picture, the great purpose of you coming out of ‘Egypt’? Ex.5:1Afterward Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘Let my people go, so that they may celebrate a festival to me in the wilderness.’” (NRSV, emphasis added).  So, the big picture, the reason why you will get that child, why you will get that spouse, why you will get that level of anointing, why you will get that level of operation in the Holy Spirit that you have been desiring is God and people. Why should that child be healed, why should your relationship be reconciled, why should the organization go to the next level? The centre of this greater purpose has to be God and people. Even though God spoke to Moses directly, Moses needed Aaron and he needed the leaders of the Jews. Nehemiah had a God idea, but Nehemiah needed people. You cannot do it alone.

Prayer: Father, I bring the things You have put in my heart and hands before You, lead me to the right collaborations that are required to birth these ideas, in Jesus Name. Amen!
