No Matter What!
Psalm 50:23 “But giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honours me. If you keep to my path, I will reveal to you the salvation of God.”
If you are going to pray in a crisis, you have to learn to honour God, no matter how you feel. Choose to honour God, no matter what. I want you to make that decision today that you will honour God, no matter what. There is a man in scriptures called Job. Job was a rich man; in fact, he was the richest man. Job was the richest man on earth in his time. But Job had a relationship with God. Job walked with God. Job was not religious; he had a thriving relationship with God. However, some things happened, Job went through a rough patch. Personal plagues happened in his life, he lost his children and his businesses in one day.
To top it up, he was struck with ill health. He had boils all over, such that he had to use clay pots to scrape his boils. It even got worse. Job 2:9 “His wife said to him, “Are you still trying to maintain your integrity? Curse God and die.” Yet despite all Job was going through, Job was going through a crisis, Job still chose to honour God. Job was going through a tough time, but Job still chose to honour God. And his wife, his closest relationship, said to him, you are still trying to honour God! Look at your life. Look at your businesses. Look at your children. They are dead. Look, your health is declining. Curse God and die. Why would she say that? Well, we may never know. But Job response is legendary.
Job 2:10 “He told her, “You’re talking like an empty-headed fool. We take the good days from God—why not also the bad days?” Not once through all this did Job sin. He said nothing against God.” (MSG). I pray that your life will consistently honour God regardless of what is going on around you, regardless of how you feel, and regardless of what you see. He said to his wife, you are talking like an empty-headed fool. It is okay for you to go to Paris on holidays, for you to fly first class, for you to live in mansions. Now we are going through a tough time, and you want me to dishonour God? Job chose to honour God. I pray in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, that you will choose to honour God.
If you check the history of the church, many of the early Christians were martyred and killed for their faith. Many of them were killed for being followers of Jesus. That is one reason why the testimony of Jesus is so strong because eyewitnesses were willing to die for it. And many of them were crucified. Choose to honour God, no matter how you feel.
Prayer: Father, I settle it today, I will honour You no matter how I feel, in Jesus Name. Amen!
