Trust God!
Matthew 6:34 “So don’t be anxious about tomorrow, don’t worry about tomorrow. For tomorrow will bring its own worries. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Today’s trouble is enough for today. Live one day at a time. (LB/NLT)
How do I trust God to meet my needs? How do I let God meet my needs? First, Ask God To Be Your Shepherd every single day. Next, Give Him First Place In Every Area Of Your Life. And thirdly, Relax And Give Him Your Worries.
#4. Trust Him For One Day At A Time. Trust God for one day at a time. Remember when Jesus taught us how to pray the Lord’s Prayer Jesus said to pray this way. Matthew 6:9-11 “Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.” (NKJV). Jesus did not say give us this day our weekly bread. It is daily bread, not weekly bread. He did not say give us this day our monthly bread. Most times, we want God to give us our weekly bread. We would prefer that God gives us our monthly bread. So that when we have received our monthly provision from God, we can forget about heaven and just do life without God. But God says, no, you come every day for your daily sustenance. That way you are dependent on God, He becomes your Shepherd, and you become His sheep.
Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (NIV, emphasis added). God is saying do not borrow trouble for tomorrow. Each day has its own trouble; today has its own trouble, and tomorrow has its own trouble. And the way God has designed things is that God will give you today your daily bread. The sustenance for today. The strength for today. The power for today. The energy for today. The anointing for today. Tomorrow, you need to go and get a fresh anointing. You need to go to God and get fresh enablement. You need to go and get fresh bread, and insight for each day.
Why? It is because you cannot solve tomorrow’s problem with today’s power. You cannot solve tomorrow’s problem with today’s anointing. You cannot solve tomorrow’s problem with today’s wisdom. God says do not worry about tomorrow. It is okay to plan for tomorrow. We are big on planning. But it is not okay to worry. It is okay to plan but is not okay to worry. You should not worry about the future. You should plan for it. But do not worry particularly about something that is inevitable. You should plan for it. It is only a fool that will not plan for something that is inevitable. For example, if you have an exam, the exam is inevitable. How do you plan for your exam? You study. But if you do not study that is foolish.
Prayer: Father, teach me to number my days, that I may gain a heart of wisdom, in Jesus Name. Amen! (Psalm 90:12, NIV).
