Action Is Power!
Ecclesiastes 11:4 “Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.”
We will begin today with the final thought from yesterday’s devotional. When I know what to do and I do not do it, there is no movement, no traction. Not because I do not have the power to do it. Sometimes I know what to do, but I do not do it because there is no power to create traction and that is a totally different kettle of fish. Where there is no power to create the traction, if it is spiritual power, I pray that you will receive the power to create the traction in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. In today’s world, there is a lot of knowledge. People claim they know what to do. In fact, before you say something, people are completing your statement because they have heard or read the same statement before.
Knowledge used to be a problem in previous generations, as such we heard statements like ‘knowledge is power’. They were given to action and to getting things done, but they were deficient in knowledge. But as soon as the knowledge gap is bridged, that generation is working and useful. However, knowledge is not a problem in this generation. This generation is deficient not in knowledge but in execution, deficient in action. People are getting a lot of knowledge about God, but they are not fruitful, and there is no traction spiritually. This is a generation that has Google at its fingertips and has access to immeasurable knowledge but has no traction.
Knowledge is not power in this generation. Knowledge only becomes power when it is put into action. Knowledge by itself is worthless. It is action that gives power to knowledge. What I am saying is, you cannot make progress without taking action. Knowing something is not enough. You cannot begin to move forward without taking action. For instance, you know that ‘XYZ’ will happen, you know the trend. But if you do not take action, nothing happens, and you will not benefit from the knowledge you have. Action produces motion and motion requires traction.
Therefore, if you want to see forward momentum and progress, if you want to gain ground in your life, you must have traction. Traction is the frictional force between two surfaces that creates movement without slipping. But we do not like the friction that traction brings. We do not like the friction that traction requires. There can be no traction without friction. Yet, it is important to note that not all friction produces traction. Some friction is outrightly useless. However, for traction to happen there has to be friction between the two surfaces.
Prayer: Father, please fill me afresh with Your Spirit of counsel and might, infuse me with the grace and strength to act on the positive knowledge I have gained, in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
