Limitless
Numbers 23:18-19 “This was the message Balaam delivered: “Rise up, Balak, and listen! Hear me, son of Zippor. God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?”
Balaam knew God but he took up an oracle and he went to the mountain to set it up. Numbers 23:7-8 “This was the message Balaam delivered: “Balak summoned me to come from Aram; the king of Moab brought me from the eastern hills. ‘Come,’ he said, ‘curse Jacob for me! Come and announce Israel’s doom.’ But how can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I condemn those whom the Lord has not condemned?” (emphasis added). A curse is the pronouncement of a limitation. But, if God has not cursed you, no man can curse you. If God does not condemn you, ten thousand people, oracles cannot condemn you.
But why would condemnation be an issue here? It is because if you read the story, did you know that Israel was actually in rebellion? In fact, they were serving punishment for not entering the Promised Land. But when it comes to The Covenant, it is not about good behaviour. The Covenant is about the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary. And if God does not see it, it does not exist. Numbers 23:11-12 “Then King Balak demanded of Balaam, “What have you done to me? I brought you to curse my enemies. Instead, you have blessed them!” But Balaam replied, “I will speak only the message that the Lord puts in my mouth.” (emphasis added). Every curse will be turned into a blessing for you in the Name of Jesus.
Balaam was saying to Balak, the reason you came to me is because I am authentic. And the reason I am authentic is because I only say what God tells me to say. Someone said to me, ‘I really don’t like how you rebuke us.’ My response was, ‘But you have been here for seven years.’ The root of our authenticity is that we say only what God wants us to say. So, Balaam and Balak left that mountain, and went to another mountain. The truth is that the people that want to destroy you are relentless. But guess what? The love of your Father is relentless.
And God has gone ahead to secure your safety. Numbers 23:20-21 “Listen, I received a command to bless; God has blessed, and I cannot reverse it! No misfortune is in his plan for Jacob; no trouble is in store for Israel. For the Lord their God is with them; he has been proclaimed their king…” (emphasis added). What has God said to you? God is not a man; He does not lie. Be rest assured that it will come to pass. The blessings of God upon you will be irreversible in the Name of Jesus. Let them set up multiple altars, the blessings upon your life are irreversible.
Prayer (song): You are not a man oh (x2). You are the God who opens doors no man can shut. You are not a man oh (x2). You are the God of everything no one like You… Amen!
