Open Up!
Luke 15:11-13 “…A man had two sons. The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate now before you die.’ So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons. … younger son …moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living.”
In Luke 15:11-32 (please read), Jesus tells us the story of the prodigal son. This boy asks for his inheritance while his father is still alive and then lavishes everything on wild living. Then, somewhere along the line, when everything was gone, he talked to himself and decided to go back to his father. No matter how far you think you are from God, if you can only come back to God, you will have mercy. And he came back to his father. He was not expecting much, but he was amazed at the reception his father gave him. The prodigal son ended up having a welcome-back party, a robe, and a signet ring. His friends rejoiced with him. I am saying, if the prodigal son received mercy, you would receive mercy in the Name of Jesus. You will!
A new chapter of mercy is opening to you in the Name of Jesus. Guess what? The chapter of mercy opens all the other chapters. Take the story of the prodigal son for example, because the door of mercy opened to him, he experienced the door of provision – the fatted calf. The door of protection opened to him. He came under his father’s roof and protection, so he had access to his father’s guards and everything. The door of promotion also opened up – the signet ring was given to him. The door of miracles opened to him. It is a miracle that his brother did not kill him. And if you look at all the stories we have looked at in the past few days, the story of Moses, the woman caught in adultery, etc. The door of mercy opens all the chapters that are desirable in God. And I pray that that door (chapter) of mercy will open up to you in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
Perhaps you have been going through the reading in the past few days, and you are like, Pastor, I need the door and the chapter of mercy to open up to me. The chapter of mercy opens to you now in the Name of Jesus. And as the chapter of mercy opens, the chapter of Provision, Promotion, Protection, and Miracles will open to you also in the Name of Jesus. Remember, Moses asked for favour, but God said it is mercy you need. Wherever you are, I want you to lift up your hands as a sign of surrender, like a child asking to be carried and cry out to God for mercy. Perhaps you have never given your life to Jesus, or you are far from God, and you want to come back. Today, the chapter of God’s mercy opens to you in the Name of Jesus. Father, we pray for everyone who is surrendering to You. Lord, we ask for Your mercy. Deliver, set free, promote, and protect them in the Name of Jesus.
Prayer: Father, I need the chapter of God’s mercy to open to me and over my life. Have mercy on me because of Your unfailing love and Your great compassion, in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
