You Need To Know III

‘And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability’ Acts 2:4

You need to know that God does the illogical. God does things that don’t make sense. As you begin to experience God unboxed, expect the illogical. The gift of tongues does not make any sense to the person speaking it. But you see, that is God for you. For a lot of people, what is limiting their realization of God and their next level is logic. We are waiting for everything to make sense. Who says everything must make sense? God can do the logical but God can also do the illogical. There was a certain man who was fond of sending his family to church on Sundays but for him it was relaxation time. His children were persistent on getting their father to Church. On one of their special services, the man agreed to follow them to church. He was miraculously blown away by the experience and he gave his life to Christ. The ministering Pastor ministered the baptism of the Holy Spirit; he received it, and began speaking in tongues. But when he was by himself at home, the devil was able to trick him that what he was speaking was nonsense. And he bought into the lies. So he was content to be saved but wanted to be left out on the tongues speaking. It just so happened that this same man was kidnapped for a ritual sacrifice. His captors did not even have to tie him to the altar because the atmosphere was charmed. While he was lying there subdued, a thought came to him. He had the gifts of tongues and just might need it now. After all its harmless and there is no one around to laugh at him. And he began to speak in tongues under his breath. He gained confidence and began to raise his voice. He caught the attention of his captors who immediately ran towards him. When he turned to them, they ran back. And he started chasing them around with tongues until they fled and he escaped. God is amazing. He has not made the person He cannot catch. God did not have to humble him like that for him to speak in tongues. Do you need some humility? Sometimes, logic and God don’t mix. You can’t reason everything out. You just have to trust God to be God.

Prayer: Lord, I ask that You have mercy on me for times when I dismissed Your hand based on my own logic. Henceforth, I will expect You to show up in the most illogical ways, in Jesus Name.
