Men’s View vs God’s View I

So God created human beings in His own image… God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it… And I have given every green plant as foodGen.1:26-30

Human beings generally have one view or the other about themselves. How you see yourself can be classified as either healthy or unhealthy. The word ‘unhealthy’ basically means something dangerous or something harmful; also used in reference to our choice of food or lifestyle. The word ‘view’ is defined as an outlook, an opinion, an impression of an event or an image. To have an ‘unhealthy view’ refers to having a dangerous outlook on life or of oneself. A number of people develop an unhealthy outlook or opinion about themselves based on their past experiences, people’s utterances or impressions about themselves. Over the next few days we will be dealing with the sources of unhealthy views about self and how best to respond to such views so that they do not become bad baggage in our lives. The first source of unhealthy views of self is borne out of what people say about you. It is important to do a periodical assessment of our lives to ascertain whether our lives are being channeled by what people say about us. You cannot afford to allow your life’s course to be charted by people’s unhealthy opinions of you. The only view that should chart the course of your life is the view of your Creator. God’s view about us is the most important view. God sees you as prosperous, reproductive, fruitful and responsible; as well as able to fill and take charge of the earth. In addition to all these qualities, God sees you as good [Gen.1:26-30]. God’s view of us is a healthy view. He provided for our success, nutrition, security, and our every need. People will always, always, always have an opinion about you. There is nothing you can do to change that. One day they call you ‘a friend’ and the next day they will call you ‘an enemy’. What you must never do is allow the direction of your life be based on people’s view of you. Study the Word and discover all that God says about you. Let God’s Word alone dictate how you live your life.

Prayer: Father, I choose to live my life based on Your opinion of me. Let Your Words carry me into Your plan for my life, in Jesus Name.
