Just Do It!
Mark 8:26 “Jesus sent him away, saying, “Don’t go back into the village on your way home.”
There are certain villages God would ask you to avoid. People can argue; is God not All- powerful, is Jesus not All-powerful, can’t He just give the man power to overcome everything? If Jesus says avoid the village, my advice is just avoid it. There is nowhere that it is written that you must fight every battle in life. If Jesus says avoid that village, avoid that village. And for some people, the village can be the village of an argument. You want to go and argue with someone, God says, “Avoid that village”. You want to have that conversation, but God is saying, “Avoid that village”. For some people, the village is a person or a relationship. God is saying, “Avoid that village, avoid it”. But you are saying, Lord, he or she is a Christian, and I am a Christian. Yet, God says you should avoid that village. There are certain engagements that God will restrain you from.
Let me give you an example: years ago, we were going to start a church in the Caribbean. In a country called St Vincent and the Grenadines. It was a spiritual thing, so as we were touching down in St Vincent, I was praying and scanning the environment and all. We were on the immigration queue, and I lifted up my eyes. They were having a carnival, and as part of a dance parade, they were carrying a creature, an image. You know how carnivals usually have different creatures or images. But this particular one, it was like the eyes popped out and became real. And it was staring at me. It was like it was tracking me and staring at me.
It was an inanimate object, but it came alive. It wasn’t in the spirit; it was a physical thing. I saw it and it came alive and it was looking at me like, you! I looked at it and I was like, so what? As I wanted to engage the spirit, the Holy Spirit said to me, “Don’t do it!” I said, “Okay” So, I looked at it somewhat like it is God that saved you today, and just ignored it. We got into the country and did what we had to do. It was a great trip. On my way back through the same airport, I noticed the creature again, and the Lord was saying to me, “If you had engaged that creature, they would have deported you from that country. In fact, they would not have allowed you to enter the country. I was like, “Wow!”
Then you would have to be fasting, praying, and binding. God allowed us to go in like a covert mission, and He was like, “Don’t bother, don’t engage”. We need to be careful because there are certain villages God will tell us to avoid. Just avoid the village.
Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, on this journey to restoration, Your voice and leading will not be scarce in my ears. And as I hear, I do, in Jesus Name. Amen!
