Unusual Strength
‘…they that know their God shall be strong and they shall do exploits’ Dan.11:32.
‘They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles’. The eagles have unusual strength. We as Christians have to be strong just like the eagle. One sure way of getting unusual strength comes from waiting on the Lord. It is only God who knows what lies ahead of you and it is He alone that can grace you for days to come. Like the scripture above describes, it is a process. First comes waiting, then renewal, and then unusual strength to mount up.
‘If you faint in the day of adversity then your strength is little’ Prov.24:10. God does not promise us a storm free life but He has given us His Name, a place where we can run to and be safe. If when there is pressure on you, you cave in and your whole world is upside down then your strength is little. You need to build capacity. The eagle though light can carry things about five times its size. Eagles pick up lambs alive. The eagle has an unusual strength. Chickens on the other hand are very weak; they always chicken out of life issues and challenges. Don’t chicken out, it is easy to chicken out; haven’t you noticed. Any body can chicken out of that marriage, or that school, or that carrier, or that business. Don’t chicken out because you are an eagle. ‘…they that know their God shall be strong and they shall do exploits’ Dan.11:32. Those that are not strong do not know God regardless of how many scriptures they quote. Do you know your God? Knowing God is key to having unusual strength. ‘be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might’ Eph.6:10. This scripture makes it sound like a choice we have to make. Yet you need to know your God before you can choose to be strong in Him. When it comes to God achieving His purposes through us, God just needs our availability really and not our abilities. Hence our strength is not our strength but His strength. Everyone who is strong today is not doing it in his or her strength. Rather they have learnt to exchange their weakness for His strength.
Prayer: Father, today I exchange my weaknesses for Your strength in every area of my life. I chose to be strong in You and in the power of Your might, in Jesus Name.
