Understanding Favour: Response 3

For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy. Prov.2:10

You must let godly wisdom influence your responses and reactions to situations of favour.  Another form of rivalry between siblings occurs as a result   of an overflow of favour (favour by proximity). In this case, the other sibling begins to experience favour as a result of being around the favoured sibling. When you hang around someone who is favoured, just like anointing, it will begin to rub off on you. You have to consciously get around people so that their grace can rub off on you. Sometimes, God starts to bless people around you because of your favour or vice versa and as a result, rivalry starts to brew. You need wisdom to manage such cases. A typical example is Abraham. Gen13:5-10, the scripture records that the land could not support both Abram and Lot and their flocks. Abram immediately deployed wisdom, knowing that the favour did not come from the land but from God. Like Abraham, the wisdom some of us just might need is to allow the blessed people in our lives go, after all they have enjoyed an overflow of favour. Gen.13:14-15, your next level of favour may just be hinged to your separation from such people. Gen.13:14, is what God is saying to you; it is a prophesy and you can claim it! Abraham thought he was blessed but God said this is just the beginning, there is so much more I have in store. The wisdom to choose peace God will give unto you in Jesus Name. You are reading this today because God wants you to be the bridge builder. Some of us need to even travel across town to initiate reconciliation with our siblings. Take the step and God will give you the grace. It might be that the reconciliation you need to make starts with your Maker, do not hesitate today.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, help me keep my eyes on the One who favours and not on the favoured. I ask for the grace to choose peace always.

  1. ‘Abram immediately deployed wisdom, knowing that the favour did not come from the land but from God.’ This is such an amazing truth. Learn from the favoured and keep your heart and eyes on God alone.
