4th Root of Personal Disharmony: Stress
I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency]. Phil.4:13 [AMP]
‘I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me’ Phil.4:13 [NLT]. Stress usually happens when the task ahead of us is perceived as being greater than what we are capable of doing. You have been assigned a task in the office because your boss is confident that you are most capable for the task. The only problem is that you do not quite see what your boss sees and you are freaking out because you have to deliver. We are usually stressed when what is before us appears bigger than what is within us. Remember that the bible says that ‘greater is He that is within me, than he that is in the world’. All knowledge comes from God and He has made you a solution. What is it that you need to do that is a much greater task than the work God had to do at creation? Or the work He does in the lives of the broken daily. In the real sense of it a Christian should not be under stress because there is nothing that is coming that your God cannot handle. You have the 100% backing of the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, and Standby). Take your eyes of yourself and put your focus on the Lord, the Alpha and Omega. If you keep relying on your own knowledge, the project will not go very far. God is not only able to do it through you; He is also able to empower you for anything. You need to step out daily in that confidence and it will eliminate stress from your mind. The only way to live a stress free life is to cast your burdens unto Jesus who cares for you. Then just sit back and watch your stress disappear gradually as you submit more and more. Do not start your day without asking for wisdom from the Holy Spirit for future daily tasks.
Prayer: Thank You Lord for being my Sufficiency. I step out daily without stress because all of my help comes from the Lord. Teach me to submit daily in Jesus Name.
